FAQs

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy is for everyone. Whether you are barely hanging on or just need a little extra help, therapy can offer great support. We can discuss further during a consultation if therapy with me is the right fit for you at this time.

  • I'm nervous to start therapy.

Starting therapy is a big step, and it’s normal to be nervous. I can’t say that therapy is always easy, but I can say that I will be here to support to you on your journey. The first step is a free, no obligation consultation call. Start there.

  • I have no idea how any of this works. Finding help is stressing me out!

You are not alone. Therapy can seem mysterious and complicated. The good news is that you’ve already taken the first by deciding to get help. The next step is booking a free consultation. I can explain the process and we can go over any questions you have.

  • How do I book my consultation?

Click “contact” on the menu above. You can book your consultation online by clicking “request appointment” and selecting a time, or fill out the contact form. I’ll send a zoom link via email and you’ll join the call when the time comes.

  • What happens during a consultation call?

Consultation calls are free, 15 minute video chats that can allow us to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. It’s important to me that you receive the best care possible. If I am not the best fit for you, I will give you referrals for people who may be better able to support you.

  • What are your rates?

I charge $150 for a standard 53 minute individual session. Sliding scale spots are available on a limited basis. Please feel free to ask about my sliding scale availability.

  • Do you take my insurance?

I am able to accept Premera, LifeWise, Aetna, Regence, First Choice, and Quest Behavioral Health. I am also able to bill Out of Network. Understanding insurance can be confusing, so I’ve got you covered. Please see the Insurance 101 page to learn more about insurance and Out of Network.

  • Where are services offered?

I can see clients online and in person in my Bellingham office, or in person for Walk-and-Talk therapy. I am licensed in Washington state, meaning I can see clients located anywhere in WA via Telehealth.

  • What is Walk-and-Talk therapy?

Walk-and-Talk sessions are just like regular sessions, only we are walking outside together. We can walk for the entire session, or find a quiet bench to sit on. Feel free to ask me about the benefits of Walk-and-Talk therapy. Excluding dangerous weather (ice/snow, excessive heat), I am happy to do Walk-and-Talk sessions come rain or shine.

  • Do you treat anything other than anxiety?

Yes! While anxiety is my speciality, I am able to see clients with a variety of mental health challenges. I see clients struggling with depression, low self esteem, ADHD, adjustment difficulties, relationship issues, and more. See my Services page for more information.

  • What is your education/license?

I attained my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State.

    My license number is LH61521368
